The Hesitation

The Hesitation: 48” X 24” The original Photography of the body paint piece by The Artist Kelsie (Paul Peregrine/ Peregrine Studios)

The Hesitation (Giclée Print on Linen Canvas | Hand Embellished)
Photography x Paint Pour x Signature Paint Flip x Quantum Symbolism

The Hesitation is the inhale before the leap — the liminal moment when knowing is felt, but not yet acted upon. Printed on linen canvas from a photographed moment of embodied pause, this piece has been layered with my signature paint flip technique, poured textures, and symbolic embellishments to give voice to the unseen forces that ripple through hesitation.

Hesitation is often misunderstood as weakness or fear. But sometimes, it is holy. It is the quiet space where truth has not yet found its form, where instinct and calling meet vulnerability. In the space of hesitation, we feel our edges, we sense the gravity of what we are about to step into, and we have a final chance to listen more deeply.

It is in this moment that the future is still fluid. And in that fluidity, there is power.

The Hesitation is part of a sacred triptych with The Wave and FireStarter — each representing a phase in the cycle of transformation: the pause, the collapse, and the ignition.

This piece captures the threshold. The body is mid-movement, light glows but holds still, and color begins to swirl as if the quantum field itself is waiting. It’s a study in becoming, and a reverent acknowledgment that even stillness carries power.

More than a painting, it is an invitation to witness the power of potential — to honor the sacred tension between fear and freedom, contraction and calling, before the fire fully begins.
